Wood Floor Finishes
Finishing wood floors with lacquer or oil is essential in order that the wood floor is protected from dirt and stains. We use only professional wood floor finishes from companies such as Bona, Granwax, Ronseal, Osmo and Jenkins to ensure that you have a high quality hardwood floor finish.
If you want your floor darker than its natural colour a stain will need to be applied in between sanding and varnishing the floor.
The most used wooden floor finishes today are Lacquer and Oil.
The most popular wooden floor finish is lacquer (also called Varnish) as it is hardwearing and easy to maintain. To make your wood floor finish as hard wearing as possible, we always choose a 2 pack lacquer which is used in conjunction with a hardener for extra protection.
All the lacquers we use are water based.
Oils are sometimes preferred for finishing wood floors if you are looking for a more rustic, natural look or although oiled floors do require more maintenance.
