Laying Reclaimed Boards

We source reclaimed boards so that they blend in with your existing floor. We remove any damaged boards, any new boards and fix down any loose boards. We can replace any amount from a few feet to an entire room. The picutres in this Case Study show half a room being replaced.

Ready to Sand

Here is the reclaimed floor after it has been laid, but before it has been sanded. Some boards are different colours due to the previous finish, but once this is sanded off the original colour of the wood will be revealed and the whole floor will match with the existing floor.

Sanding Process

One half of the room had boards which were in good condition and none needed replacing. The other half however, were replaced with reclaimed boards. The sanding process ensures that all the boards get down to bare wood.

Sanded Throughout

This picture shows the 2 combined rooms sanded throughout. It also shows how the once dark and mis matched reclaimed boards have been cleaned up by the sanding process.

Lacquering

This picture shows the lacquering process. The first half of the room has been completed. You can see that there is no visible join between the rooms despite having had half the room replaced with reclaimed boards.

Reclaimed Floor - Finished

This picutre shows in detail the reclaimed floor finished (see picture at top for before picture). It has also been Mass Filled. Notice how the dark colouring on the boards was removed by the sanding process and all the boards blend in.
